We live our values
After 2 years working on the client side, I decided to go over to the dark side and joined Initiative earlier this year.
As a Search Analyst, I have the chance to juggle between words and numbers in order to create the most efficient digital campaigns. Passionate about new technology, I love being continuously surprised by the global shift in mindsets, beliefs and behaviours of various cohorts of people, knowledge of which is vital to my role.
I’ve worked in media for 2 years and joined IPG Mediabrands at the end of March 2017. I work on the Trading team across AV, Press and Radio for clients such as Tesco, NDC and Homebase. I deal with the day-to-day buying and monitoring of campaigns.
I have a BBus from CIT in Marketing.
My role is to ensure the most effective planning and buying of our client’s AV campaigns. I have 5 years industry experience working on both supplier and agency side. I have a huge passion for TV and have appeared once or twice on it myself. I am a proud bogger from Portlaoise.
I have a BA (Hons) in PR & Communications from IT Carlow and a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing from DIT.
As Office Manager my role here is to keep things ticking over. I am the first point of contact for both clients and suppliers. My role is varied and for me, no two days are the same. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I joined Initiative in August 2015, moving from client-side where I have 4 years’ experience working on E-commerce brands. Unlike other areas of the agency, in SEO I have the fun of both rooting through the technical elements of a client’s website while strategically conveying their brand message and offering in search engine results pages. I’m totally obsessed with the user journey and data and believe we can leverage that information to improve online performance.
My favourite part of the job is translating the world of SEO and the data we collect into plain English so our clients understand how SEO can benefit their business.
I joined Initiative in October 2015 looking not only for new challenges but also for the opportunity to move to the agency side of the advertising business having spent several years in publishing and in-house.
In my role as Search Manager I love exploring new opportunities for our clients especially when it comes to machine learning and predictive algorithms, something that might be related with having been obsessed with technology since I managed to put my hands on the Atari 2600 back in the day.
HEAD OF TRADING AND BROADCAST
I would definitely be considered an old timer in media terms with almost 13 years experience behind me. I joined Initiative in March 2016. I love the energy and values of the company and the passionate focus upon our clients. I am the Head of Trading and Broadcast. I have a tendency to happily get lost in an excel sheet for many hours. As a negotiator I will never close a deal with one party feeling disappointed. There is always a solution to appease each side.
I’ve worked in the media industry for over 13 years across press, events, social and digital.
For over 6 of those years, I have been working on the Digital media sector.
I started with Initiative in October 2015. My role is to manage the digital department across strategy, data, social, search and programmatic.
I work with all clients to ensure they are getting the best from all digital platforms and help lead them through the digital landscape, along with helping them futureproof their business in the digital realm.
Data and analytics is something I am passionate about. Currently, I’m working on a project that will align each digital medium closer together for attribution and so we can get greater learnings from all campaigns.
Outside of working across a range of exciting brands, leading a best in class digital team and helping individuals progress in their career is something I am passionate about.
As an Account Manager I work on delivering bespoke media strategies that help grow our client’s business. I currently work on Tesco and in order to plan effectively, it is essential that I have a clear understanding of their business needs and marketing objectives. It is also my responsibility to ensure that we are planning and buying effectively, constantly communicating to each specialist team within the agency to ensure that all media plans achieve the best results.
I love the competitive and fast paced environment of retail and how no two days are the same. It means I need to be proactive and reactive as well as organised and level headed.
The part of my job that interests me most is building a great team and working with really enthusiastic people. We invest our clients’ money and prove that advertising works every day. Apart from our growing business the thing that gives me most satisfaction is helping our clients grow their business through great advertising, insight and really striving to do our best by our partners every day.
I’ve worked in the media industry for over 8 years. Currently, I am working on a multi-faceted client with significant market share across a number of product categories including Grocery, Clothing, Online Retail and extended brand divisions that encompass Banking and Telecoms. I am the agency’s key point of contact with the client, which involves working closely with them to agree the parameters of all media briefs and I am responsible for managing and communicating the brief to relevant activation teams within the agency.
The work that I’m most proud of was challenging and persuading one of the agency’s largest clients to make the move from an over reliance on press into the digital space in order to move with their audience, a switch which wasn’t an easy task and challenged the status quo within their sector.
Client service and satisfaction is paramount in my job satisfaction, ensuring I provide world class client service is my number one responsibility.
Account Director on Tesco Mobile, Tesco.com, Tesco Bank, DBS, & Turkish Airlines
In media since 2004 (!!!!) = 12 Years
I like the fact I’m trying to sell mobile phones in the morning and persuading school leavers where to go to college in the afternoon
Since 2013 I have worked on a broad range of clients including campaigns for Arnotts, Match.ie and Werthers Original. Buying for such a variety of brands has enabled me to research different audiences and target markets.
I love working on projects which allow me to gain further insights into audience trends and future expectations. For example during the 2014 FIFA World Cup I conducted an in-depth analysis of TV Ratings against the 2010 World Cup which supported our TV planning.
Years at Initiative: 2
As Insights Manager my role is to ensure that the consumer is at the heart of everything we do, both for existing clients and for new business pitches. I love how even though there are more media touchpoints than ever before, a good idea that shows you understand your audience will always cut through the noise.
Online advertising expert since 2003. I love to find the balance of proven result and bold new technology to reach new levels of performance and engagement. Online Programmatic is not the future, it is the “now”, so get on board before it’s too late!
Every client has a different audience that needs delving into and the insights you can deliver can be extremely interesting. This background work to the media plan is probably where I get my biggest buzz from. I love seeing how my audiences have evolved as a demographic down through the years particularly.
